Microprocessors

A microprocessor - also commonly known as a Central Processing Unit or CPU is an 'electronic brain' that is fabricated onto a single piece of silicon. Generally it is made up of a wafer thin piece of silicon onto which transistors making up the microprocessor have been etched. A microprocessor can contain many millions of transistors.
