Waffle Trays & Other Plastics

Plastic trays used for packaging electronic components are commonly referred to as waffle trays. In a high volume environment where high lead/ball count components such as BGAs and QFPs are used, it is possible to generate a significant number of spent waffle trays. As a result companies exist which will recycle these trays or collect and return them to manufacturers. In addition research is currently underway to produce trays which are eco-friendly and totally bio-degradable.
